Devra Berkowitz is a multimedia artist and recent MFA graduate from Hunter College, with a background in journalism. Her artistic journey, initially guided by a desire to drive global change through her work with the United Nations, has evolved into a focus on using art to address societal issues more profoundly.

Devra’s work is rooted in the belief that true freedom is achieved when every individual is liberated from oppression and inequality. Inspired by our shared human experiences and the universal beauty that connects us, she creates multimedia pieces that challenge perspectives and inspire self-realization.

Her creative process combines introspection with an exploration of identity and social constructs. By merging art and journalism, Devra aims to highlight societal injustices, amplify marginalized voices, and promote unity and compassion. Her art is a call to action for a more just and equitable world, reflecting a commitment to transforming societal norms and fostering positive change.
